Reaching for the Sky
Born in Germany, 1942, Wolf Haessler came to Canada, 1952, with parents, one sister, and four brothers. They settled, first, Montreal, then Richmond Hill, Ontario. Wolf graduated in engineering from the University of Guelph, 1966. He also graduated, University of Western Ontario, with a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. Co-founding a machinery building business, 1969, Wolf and his company, Haessler & De Way, initially specialized in manufacturing equipment for food processors and handling materials. Realizing a need for scissor-type work platforms, the company envisioned becoming a work platform manufacturer and Skyjack Inc. was born, 1981. By 1985, Wolf had purchased all of the shares of Haessler & De Way not owned by him. Today, Wolf is continually on the road in Europe and Asia expanding the sales of Skyjack scissor platforms, one model of which he stands upon in this recent view. [Photo, courtesy Skyjack Inc.]
