Hungarian
Canadians, dressed in the traditional costumes of their ancestors for Toronto’s
annual Caravan festivities, 1997, celebrate their cultural heritage on
stage at the beautiful Árpád Room at the Hungarian Canadian
Cultural Centre, Toronto. The backdrop to the stage is an impressive mural
depicting eastern Europe’s most famous river, the Danube, passing under
Lánc Hid, the first bridge to span the Danube and the bridge linking
the ancient cities of Buda and Pest, known today as Budapest, the capital
of Hungary. [Photo, courtesy the Hungarian House]
