Young Sup Chung, born, Inchon,
Korea, 1937, went to Purdue University, Indiana, topursue undergraduate
work in the biological sciences. Upon graduating, B.Sc., 1960, he travelled
to Giessan University, Giessan, Germany, graduating, Ph.D., 1964. While
a Research Associate, Frankfurt University, Young Sup married In Hi, 1965,
then travelled to California where he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow, Palo
Alto Medical Research Foundation, 1966-69. Since 1970, Dr. Chung has been
Professor, Department, Biological Sciences, University of Montreal. He
has received numerous awards, including Order of Korea for Science, 1999,
and Prix d’Excellence (Government of Quebec), 1993. Author/co-author of
over 140 scientific articles, Dr. Chung was made Chevalier, Ordre National
de Québec, 1993, and Chevalier, St-Sépulcre de Jérusalem,
1996. He also received the National Merit Services award from the President
of Korea, 1992. The father of piano virtuoso, Lucille, and Rex, a financier,
Young Sup Chung, on four separate occasions, has been visiting professor
at the world-renowned Pasteur Institute, France, 1980, ’87, ’91, ’94. [Photo,
