Entrepreneurial Maltese Falcon
Joseph Vassallo, a founder of the Maltese-Canadian Society of Toronto (1922), came as an immigrant to Canada from Zebugg, Malta, in the 1920s. His son, Joseph Jr., viewed here, was the founder, 1943, of Magneto Electric, an all-Canadian company specializing in servicing electric motors. Today, sons Joseph III and Michael run the company of some 70 employees whose network of loyal customers spans North America. [Photo, courtesy Carmen Vassallo]
