Offshore Oil Explorationist
Born in Msida, Malta, in 1935, educated at Stella Maris College and St. Albert the Great College, Malta, Charles E. Puglisevich, centre, first immigrated to Canada in 1960, returning to Malta in 1968, setting up, in 1974, Mediterranean Oilfield Services Co. Ltd. for the Maltese government and various foreign investors. In 1978, with this work experience behind him, he returned to Canada with his family to take advantage of the offshore oil exploration activities in Eastern Canada, first working for Ocean Inchcape Ltd. and Crosbie Offshore Services Ltd., eventually establishing, in 1980, the Puglisevich Group of Companies, a diversified corporate conglomerate identified with offshore oil and gas exploration services. Today, Mr. Puglisevich is the Honorary Consul General of Malta for the Maritime Provinces. For his many services to Canada, the Canadian government in 1993 acknowledged Mr. Puglisevich’s services to his adopted country by awarding him the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada.
