Originally
from Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines, Ma-Anne Dionisio immigrated with
her family to Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1990. Two years later, she was playing
a lead role in Experience Canada: Spirit of a Nation, a musical which toured
Canada and was written to commemorate Canada’s 125th anniversary as a nation.
The next year Ma-Anne was selected to play the lead role of Kim in Miss
Saigon, a part she performed for the entire two-year run of the show in
Toronto. Most recently, she starred in both Asia and South Africa in the
international touring production of Les Miserables. For the 1999 season
at Ontario’s Stratford Festival, Ma-Anne played the lead role of Maria
