First settling in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Mike Mkangwana immigrated to Canada from Cape Province, South Africa, in 1984. Today, Mike lives in London, Ontario, where he is an assistant manager of a furniture manufacturing company. In this view, as Vice President of the Canadian Council of South Africans, Mike Mkangwana is standing with his wife, Vicki, and Prime Minister Jean Chrétien who, in 1998, hosted a gala dinner for Nelson Mandela when the former South African President made an impressive State Visit to Canada. Dr. Alan Hudson, born in South Africa and educated at the Universities of Cape Town, Toronto, and Oxford, immigrated to Canada in the 1960s. A neuro-surgeon who served at Toronto's St. Michael’s Hospital as Head of the Neurosurgical Division and at the University of Toronto as Chair of Neurosurgery, in addition to serving as Honorary President, World Federation of Neurological Societies, is currently the President and CEO of The Toronto Hospital.
