Welcome to the Highlights in the History of Canadian Aviation

This site contains nearly 300 photographs of 25 different aircraft, all of which have played an important role in shaping Canadian aviation history. The Canadian Aviation time line console is divided into five separate categories. Each category represents a key period in aviation history. To view these periods, click on the colour map below, or scroll down to the hyperlinks if you are using a non-graphics browser.

SchoolNet Digital Collections

The digitization project was co-ordinated by the National Aviation Museum (NAM) and supervised by the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa-Carleton (East-End unit). This project also involved the creation of an Archival Photo Database which contains an additional 8,000 photographs and will be available on the National Aviation Museum's website shortly.
