retardancy:The ability to slow down a process. Flame retardancy is the ability to slow down combustion.
retention:The ability to hold something. e.g. water retention is the ability to hold water.
rhizosphere:The soil volume surrounding the root.
rice:Oryza sativa The starchy seeds or grain of a grass, cultivated in warm climates and used for food.
rosemary:Rosemarinus officinalis. An evergreen shrub, used as a seasoning and a perfume. Native to the Mediterranean region.
rotenone:C23H22O6. A white crystalline, water-insoluble, poisonous heterocyclic compound, obtained from derris root: used chiefly as the active ingredient of certain insecticides and in medicine in the treatment of chiggers and scabies.
