CENTRE GETS GREEN LIGHT

Humboldt Community Centre organizers have been given the green light to tender the $2.8 million first phase of the proposed Humboldt Community Centre. The entire project is now estimated to cost 3.8 million. First phase construction consists of the community centre, curling rink and shell of a 2,000 seat area.

To bring the project to the point of tendering will cost $130,000. Centre chairman Jack Peck said that figure includes the project manager’s fee, as well as design and inspection costs. The $130,000 fee also includes a centre redesign flexibility that will allow planners to change the design of the centre until it fits into their budget.
