THE ROSARY CRUSADE

The Saskatchewan Family Rosary Crusade was launched at the shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Sunday, Sept. 26, 1948, under weather conditions that suggest a special favor from the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. After several days of cool and cloudy weather, which was especially disagreeable and threatening on Saturday, an ideal Sunday with bright sun and warm temperature followed, contrary to all expectations. And on Monday morning the chill and the clouds came again, together with a heavy rain that is a boost for next year's crops. The perfect early fall weather permitted more than 12,000 people to assemble at the shrine, located in what some speakers of the day called the heart of the province. Numerous distant places were represented. From Regina came a well filled large Saskatchewan Transportation bus chartered for the occasion.
