Artefacts - Organic
A variety of animal bones, shells, sea shells, fruit pits, and other organic materials were recovered from the site of the P.S. Lady Sherbrooke. Some showed signs of being cut by saws, probably by the cook of the ship.
The following images depict some of the discoveries which included an ankle bone from a young sheep and the jaw bone of a horse. Evidence on the bones of chewing by rats leads to the conclusion that rats were also passengers on board.
