Wood was the dominant material used in the construction of the P.S. Lady Sherbrooke therefore it is not surprising the so many pieces were recovered. In addition to the object itself the types of wood used, ranging from white oak to spruce, and the manner in which the wood was handled are interesting.

In the following imaged note the enormous size of some of the artefacts and the way that they were handled to ensure the survival of the object outside of water.
