Artefacts - Mechanical Parts

Artefacts The mechanical parts discovered on the wreck of the P.S. Lady Sherbrooke are amongst the only remaining parts originally manufactured by the British company Boulton and Watt. Objects such as lead gaskets and cast iron spacers provide key insights into how engines were manufactured and thought of during the nineteenth century.

Recalling that what was discovered on this wreck was either viewed as garbage, or overly difficult to remove, this small glimpse into the psyche of the period is very helpful to researchers. Artefacts
