Social Activities
The life on board a research vessel such as the John Molson II is not boring. We had a lot of visitors. Television crews and
journalist came to visit the site on regular basis. We had a lot
of parties, but for security reasons without alcoholic beverages. After all, you
can not dive if you are drunk. It is far too dangerous.
Various groups were welcomed on board. For example, the Boy Scouts of the 95th Saint-Zotique visited us to get a glimpse of what underwater archaeology was all about. Other curious visitors included many large fish, ranging from pikes and sturgeons to eels (see the image on the side). But in general terms working on a research boat is very tiring. Frequently we can find an exhausted diver trying to get some sleep, to be rested for their next dive.
