Isaac and Annie were
married in 1892 in Manchester, England; moving to Ulster for twenty-eight
years before coming to Canada in 1921. In May of 1921, the rest of Hills
emigrated to Lumby. Sara and Lucy went into the teaching profession. And
Medwin joined his father to farm on Dure
Meadow Road.
Medwin, as well as working the family farm worked in a lumber mill
for nine years. He decided that was a dead end occupation, so on his
own time, went into the hospital and trained under the only orderly
there at that period. He got a job working at Vernon Jubilee Hospital,
retired in 1978. All his patients loved him.
