Pat Tuohy

Pat Tuohy came out to B.C. from Ireland in 1911 to visit his brother, but he had moved to Vancouver Island. He came to Lumby, again, in the fall of 1914. Shortly after, he joined the 30th BC Horse but was transferred to the 172nd Rocky Mountain Rangers in February 1916. Pat worked in Lumby on the Dickson farm and the Dorans.

After, Pat decided to move to Merritt where he went to work for the Guichons. He had an accident with the team that he was driving with a load of hay. Pat then returned back to Lumby to work again for Doran's ranch. Pat got further employment from Frank Muchowski making ties. Pat married Mary Muchowski on May 8th, 1928. They had two daughters, Frances and Theresa. Francis Craney married Frances in December 31st of 1954 in Lunby. Theresa married W. Bernard in the old St. Ann's Church at O'Keefe, 1953.
