In 1912, he sold it to Samuel Charles Lancaster who had been born in London, England. Before coming to Canada, Lancaster had held a position with the City Press of London. In Saskatchewan, he was employed with the Prince Albert Advocate before Dr. Shadd purchased it and changed it to the Carrot River Journal.
