"En route to Cariboo riding Left Métis at 8 a.m. and got to St. Angèle at 10.10. Stopped there about 20 minutes and then rode on till nearly twelve. Stopped till 2.30 for lunch and rode till 4 got about 4 miles past St-Gabriel just past river Neigette. Found an ideal camping ground. Good fire and with the moonlight it made a most picturesque effect for Eric's first night in tent. Around fire I recited to the boys." Elsie Reford Diary, Thursday, September 7th 1911 |
