Marriages

Reford-Meighen

"In the spring a young man's fancy - very seriously - turns to thoughts of love." And in the spring, as sure as trilliums come to the hills, do the orange blossoms bloom out on the hair of fair maidens. But never blossoms decked a sweeter bride than Miss Elsie Stephen Meighen as she stood before the altar of St. Paul's Church, to take the solemn vows of matrimony upon her. And a very picturesque scene was here presented. On all sides were groups of dark green palms and ferns, lovely white roses and tall callas, clusters of white carnations and feathery spared, and in the midst the soft colouring of the white, pink, and blue gowns of the wedding party.

Miss Elsie Meighen is the eldest daughter of Mr. Robert Meighen, President of the Lake of the Woods Milling Company; and the bridegroom, Mr. Robert Reford jr., is the eldest son of Mr. Robert Reford of the well-known shipping firm.
