Annie Moose - MM195
This photograph of Annie Moose was taken in the early 1970's outside of her cabin in South
Indian Lake. Murray described Annie as warm-hearted and one of his best
friends. "As soon as she had me in sight, she would heat up the kettle and pull
out some fresh bannock." "We would have good tea and exchange
stories," Murray reminisced. She always happily greeted Murray by saying
"Hi noosisim", which means "Hi grandchild." Annie was known as
"The Grand Lady of The Trail." Murray believes this photo shows the beauty
of Native elders.
