Pomeroy Hotel - The first hotel in Fort St. John was built by Claire Stokke in 1927. That structure was added on to and became part of the Pomeroy Hotel and can be seen in the background of this picture (early 1950's). The Pomeroy Hotel had eight rooms and the town's first beer parlour. Additions were made to this building many times over the years and the original log building is still inside the present day Fort Hotel.
