RAYMOND LEWIS: olympic athlete

Olympic athlete Ray Lewis was born on 30 Clyde St. in Hamilton, Ontario. Ray began his illustrious running career at age 9 when he competed in a race at a local picnic. Lewis continued to compete until he retired from the track in 1938.

When reflecting on the career of Ray Lewis, his accomplishments seem even more remarkable when one notes that he was forced to stopped formally training in 1930 (approx.) as his hectic schedule as a R.R. porter prevented him from indulging in regular training.
