THE PACIFIC REGION
The Pacific Region, located on the west coast of Canada, is
home to some of the most beautiful and luscious forests of the world. The
coastal landscape is picturesque because of the presence of the many trees,
mountains, rocks, lakes, animals, birds, and the beaches of the Pacific Ocean.
The native population of this region has been an important cultural influence,
due particularly to its highly developed skills in art. Totem carvings
often symbolize the West Coast Indian population. The Natives have also
inspired many paintings by Canadian artists.
