Wildlife Act
You can access the text of the British Columbia Wildlife Act at the following web site: http://www.qp.gov.bc.ca/statreg/list_statreg_w.htm
If you refer to the definitions:
"wildlife" means raptors, threatened species, endangered species, game or other species of vertebrates prescribed as wildlife and, for the purposes of sections 3 to 5, 7, 8 and 108 (2) (v), includes fish;
"an animal in Okanagan Lake, other than a sturgeon, that is more than 3 metres in length and the mates or offspring of that animal"
Schedule A of the Designation and Exemption Regulation, which can also be accessed at the web site, names the vertebrates that are prescribed as wildlife under the Wildlife Act. Although the above animal was listed on Schedule A until September 2000, it was removed from the list at that time.
