Geert Maas Sculpture Gardens Gallery & Studio
Internationally acclaimed artist Geert Maas works in two and three dimensions in a variety of media. His discipline include sculpture, relief work, medallic art and painting.

Click here to see more picturesMaas was born in the Netherlands, where he attended the Academy of Art and the Kijkduin Academy in The Hague, and was awarded diplomas for teaching applied art, painting and drawing. In 1979, Maas moved to Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, with his family. There, he and his wife Elly created the Geert Maas Sculpture Gardens and Gallery, which feature one of the largest collections of bronze sculptures in Canada and a diverse selection of other artwork. Among the wide range of art-related activities, including curator, coordinator and project leader, Geert and Elly are frequently invited to give lectures, adjudicate exhibitions and guide art tours.

Geert Maas' skillful and inspired use of a wide range of materials marks him as one of Canada's most dynamic and versatile artists. His works have been shown in over eighty exhibitions and are represented in prestigious public, corporate and private collections worldwide.

Featuring one of the largest collections of bronze sculptures in Canada as well as numerous paintings and other works, the Gardens and Gallery welcome thousands of visitors from around the world throughout the year to the frequently changing exhibitions.

Kelowna Art Gallery
The Kelowna Art Gallery was founded in 1976. Incorporated as a Society on March 14, 1977, the gallery was 900 square feet in a corner of the Kelowna Centennial Museum. In 1995, architect Mitch Vance of the local architectural firm Fulker Maltby was chosen to design the new gallery. The official opening of the gallery took place on March 29, 1996.

Click here to see more pictures The Kelowna Art Gallery is now located just a block from its original location, downtown on Water Street. The new 15,000 square foot facility offers three gallery spaces: the Treadgold Bullock Gallery, the Reynolds Gallery and the Rotary Courtyard.

In addition, the building boasts an impressive front hall; two classrooms; permanent collection storage; technical and carpentry rooms; upper and lower level offices.

The Kelowna Art Gallery serves the central Okanagan Valley with a variety of exhibitions and education programs for all ages. The Gallery offers benefits through its membership such as discount on classes and exhibition catalogues as well, members receive a copy of its quarterly journal.
