MYSTERY OF THE OLD SUITCASE

LETTER # 7

OCT 29,
8:30 PM

My beloved husband,

Our darling is no better today and I try to think what made up my mind that she is to join the band of angel children that stand around the throne of God. Her suffering has been very great -- poor, pathetic darling. The fancies in her head are so fearful that they bring her sick at the stomach. We keep ice on her head. This morning she had a very bad attack and the pain was so bad that it affected her throat in some way and she could not speak.

Everyone has been very kind...Mrs. Drake stayed up last night with her and I got some sleep... Mrs. Chev was up Saturday and Sunday...the dear little sufferer cannot bear a sound and the room is so darkened that it is difficult to see....
