W hile many restored Victorian homes are open to the public, they are rarely found in their original settings. Once a showplace among the city's elite homes, the partially restored grounds are considered the finest Victorian gardens in British Columbia. By the 1950's, the garden, which had gradually deteriorated, was completely overgrown. Efforts to restore the garden to its Late Victorian splendour began in 1986 after extensive research in the 1970's.
