Gloire de Dijon

Bred by Jacotot, in 1853 a noisette from Desprez a Fleur Jaune and Souvenir de la Malmaison... "will supply more good roses in a season than any other variety, for it is first in spring and last in winter to produce its abundant flowers, exquisite in colour, form and fragrance." (R1/159). "In colour a combination of rose, salmon and yellow; flowers very large, very full; a superb variety for wall or pillar." [P1] "Almost an exact resemblance of the Bourbon Rose 'Souvenir de la Malmaison', and, like that fine Rose, it requires dry warm weather to open its flowers in perfection., Its perfume is Tea-like and powerful..."
