Souvenir de la Malmaison

(trans., 'In Remembrance of Malmaison')
Beluze, 1843
From 'Mme Desprez' (B) x 'A Tea Rose'(possibly 'Deconiensis').
"Malmaison" was the palace to which the Empress Josephine retired after her divorce from Napoleon. On the grounds, she created the world's most complete collection of roses, unsurpassed until the advent of Sangerhausen and L'Hay. "The rose is white...creamy white, fine." "...A magnificent Rose, with large thick petals. The perfune is delicious, and its flowers average nearly five inches in diameter. Magnificent foliage - a superb rose."
