Dr Francis Bradshaw

Francis Bradshaw was a physician. Bradshaw was one of Newfoundland's early medical doctors, who practiced in Placentia. An ex-naval surgeon, he was Justice of the Peace in Trepassey in 1792 and was removed to Placentia. Along with practicing medicine he had the responsibility of administering the law. For eighteen years he acted as magistrate without pay and when he requested remuneration for his duties as magistrate from the Governor he was refused. Bradshaw continued to practice in Placentia until 1825.
