Plast in Edmonton, Alberta
In 1932-33, an independent Plast
group existed in Edmonton and Myrnam and met in the Ukrainian National
Home building. However, the group became inactive. After the arrival of
Ukrainian Displaced Persons, the first Plast Branch was established in
Edmonton in 1948. The next year a Guides group was formed and the first
Camp was held..Plast cooperated with other Ukrainian youth groups in Edmonton
and held joint events and activities. In 1960 the first Plast building
was acquired. Another building was purchased in 1971 but was destroyed
by fire in 1987 and rebuilt.
