Ignace Dumouchel (1791-1876), merchant and militia captain of Rigaud, married Félicité, J.-J. Girouard's sister. After the burning and sacking of the village of Saint-Benoît in 1837, he sheltered Girouard's wife, whose house had been destroyed.
