Lt. Ronald J Groome

On April 21, 1920 local veteran of W.W.I, Lt. Ronald J Groome
became the first person to be granted a pilot's certificate in Canada.

Lt. Groome, along with his partner, Ed Clarke established and
operated an air landing facility on the site of the present day Regina
Airport until 1928, at which time the Municipal Air Board took over
operations of the facility.
