Business, Manufacturing and Trade

Following the Regina Cyclone the City underwent
a period of reconstruction and expansion.
Several well known businesses came to Regina
during this phase of the City's history. In 1915 Robert
Simpson established a Western Distributing Point
for mail order in Regina. In that same year Imperial
Oil began construction of its new oil refinery and
distribution centre north of the City.

In 1927 General Motors built a car manufacturing
plant in Regina. During the Second World War
expansion was halted with manufacturing in the
City being redirected towards production for the
war effort.
