The Future of Economic Activity in the City

Regina will always remain affected by Agricultural
Economy but it is no longer as dependent on the
industry as it was in the early 20th century.

Regina enjoys a knowledge-based economy, its
workforce is well educated and the costs of doing
business in the city are relatively low. Both the private
and public sectors continue to recognize that Regina
is a good place to invest.

Regina has one of Canada's most stable economies
in Canada, growing an average of 2.3% a year over
the last 10 years. This growth is expected to continue
for the next five years. Those Industries where the City
is advancing include manufacturing, primary industries
and utilities, transportation, and communications.
