Inside the Human Body - The Respiratory System

The air I breathe goes deep into two big spongy bags called my lungs. In my lungs the oxygen is pushed into my blood. Now it is ready to begin the long trip around my body looking for a cell that needs it.

Take another breath. See your chest moving? That’s because your lungs are filling up with air! I want everyone to stand up. Put one hand on your collarbone and the other on the bottom of your rib cage. This is how big your lungs are! Pretty neat hey! My heart and lungs are so important, that they need to be protected! What bones protect my heart and lungs in front and behind? I hope you guessed my ribs and spine.
