Air Pollution

Household Products

You may not realize it, but there are many products that cause air pollution in your home! A lot of these things can be very harmful to your body - especially your lungs. You should try to avoid breathing too much air polluted with cleaning products, pesticides, paints, and spray cans. Any of these things can give you dizziness, allergic reactions, eye irritation, skin irritation, and lung irritation. Some of them can even make you feel like you're going to throw up!

Do you like arts and crafts? Many of the materials you use may be harmful to your body if you aren't careful! Many paints contain poisonous ingredients, and they can also irritate your skin. Glue and markers are fun to make crafts with, but if you smell the fumes from them for too long, they can make you very sick!

You have to be careful around the house. If you ever use a product that has a strong smell, you should work in a wide-open area, or make sure there's a window open to get the fumes out. If you start to feel dizzy or sick, or if you're starting to get a headache, then you must stop what you're doing immediately and get some fresh air until the feeling passes. Many of the products that we use in our houses are very dangerous, and you have to be careful when you're using them!

Take care of your body - always do arts and crafts in open areas!
