Conclusion
title

Many French troops remained in Chaleur Bay after the battle was over to partake in trade. By August, British officials feared this would have a negative effect on their own trade and communications. After Montreal finally surrendered in September, 1760, the English sent orders for the troops to put down their arms.

“On October 23rd, 1760, the British met with the Indians and troops. The French decided to surrender quietly, embarked on the English ship-the Good Intent, and departed for France on November 5th.”6
