  • Jan. 26: the roof of this dwelling house caught fire near the stove pipe this morning and burnt through 2 or 3 shingles
  • Jan. 31: (entry in ledger) yesterday morning to date, 2 years ago, our dear daughter, Ida Grace died at Victoria, B.C. -John & Jenet Boyd
  • Feb. 3: Mr. A. Locke, with mail and travelling to Cottonwood House on snow shoes, arrived here with one foot slightly frozen (see ledger page 102 above, in notes column)
  • Feb. 4: donation of $5 sent to the Crosley Girls Home at Port Simpson, B.C. in memory of Ida Grace Boyd
