The traditional way of life for the Secwepemc people involved a number of activities that were completed on a daily basis. These activities included the sharing of history, finding sustenance, housing, and forms of entertainment. The Secwepemc people could share their history by story telling and their daily teachings. Hunting, fishing, foraging, and preserving food accomplished their need to find food. Completing their housing needs would depend on the season. In the winter season the Secwpemc would live in pithouses and in the summer season they would live in portable lodges. For entertainment the Secwepemc would play a variety of games also designed for the seasons. This way of life was a part of the Secwepemc society for many centuries and still plays a role in the Secwepemc communities today.
