Do you wonder how these products were created? These products were results of many of our conferences and came from suggestions from youth and other participants. The Students Commission encourages youth involvement, and many of the products we offer are created by youth and can be used by anyone. These products can be used in a classroom or even as a resource book for personal use. Many of our products come as booklets, CD ROM's, videos, and/or Internet components.

Winning Ideas '95

" When You see Me, You See A Monster, " is the first TG produced CD ROM on student generated anti-racism projects. Student work chosen from thousands of excellent ideas entered from across Canada. Articles written by students touch on issues of self-exploration and the impact racism has on us all. Through a series of student produced articles, discussion topics and related activities students will be able to cross and take down the barriers of racism.

Winning Ideas '96

The second in the series, Winning Ideas '96 looks at winning ideas on how to stop racism. Entitled " We Are the Doctors, Help Make This World Better, " submissions from students in elementary and secondary schools across Canada build a unique educational resource for students. This resource helps others to think about racism and do something to prevent it.

The Teacher's Guide includes instructions on how to use the CD ROM in your classroom, a sample unit plan, themed activities and detailed instructions.

 

Millenium Moments 200 booklet

Millennium Moments 2000

 The Millennium Moments contest was created by TG Magazine and the Federal Government to motivate Canadian youth to explore humanity's most profound events and achievements over the past 2000 years and to begin to look to the millennium as an era of possibility. Winners of the contest were treated to a shopping spree at Roots. Entries were compiled into an exciting multimedia educational resource package that is widely used in schools across the country.

Challenge the Assumptions (Young Women's Guide)

In this colourful guide, young women have mobilized to express their issues and concerns and offer their solutions. The issues discussed from a global and local perspective include: education, health, violence against women and empowerment. The guide includes personal stories, issues and solutions, ideas for individual and group action, as well as a list of other resources.
