St. Williams, located within the Township of Delhi, was originally known as Cope's Landing
after Conrad Cope,a local landowner in 1793. In 1838 the name was changed to St. Willams
in honour of William Gillaspy, a well-respected community member.
Reforestry Station
St. Williams, Ontario became home to Canada's first Provincial Forestry
Station in 1908. Today the Station owns more than 2000 acres of land
and grows trees to be replanted throughout the surrounding area.
