Through a contract from Industry
Canada, the design team was hired to produce a digital
collection on SchoolNet. The purpose of this project was
to assemble a work team of young Canadians and to provide
them with practical work experience. This experience
included scanning, the use of Internet software, HTML
production tools, World Wide Web viewers and graphics,
and sound and text manipulation.
The team became proficient in
several software packages, including Microsoft Front Page
2, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Adobe Photoshop 3,
Microsoft Access 97, CuteFTP, and Fractal Design Painter

Kate McCabe
 |
Kate has a degree in creative
arts and humanistic education from Dawson
College, The New School. She has worked for the
last three and a half years as a staff member at
the Fraser-Fort George Regional Museum. |

Allison Richards
 |
Allison has an Honours Degree
in Marine Biology from the University of Guelph,
Ontario. She has worked for several years as a
wildlife rehabilitator, animal trainer and
education instructor, and hopes to pursue a
career in biology. |

Crystal Hildebrandt
 |
Crystal has received an
undergrad degree in Music from Prairie Bible
College, and is pursuing her studies in Belfast,
North Ireland. She has been involved in the
staging of musical programs, and plans to pursue
a career in the composition, arrangement and
performance of music. |
Romney Hyland
 |
Romney is entering into grade
12 at Duchess Park Secondary School, where she
takes courses in science and mathematics. She has
gained valuable knowledge of Web Page Design
through this project, and hopes to pursue a
career in medicine. |
Scott McCulloch
 |
Scott
has previous experience in researching and
developing web sites. He has a geography degree
from the University of British Columbia, and is
about to begin the full-time advanced diploma
program in Geographic Information Systems at
BCIT.
