Le Cairn est un monument qui a été érigé à l'été 2001 dans le cimetière Saint-Joachim d'Edmonton, entre la 117e rue et la 105e Avenue. Ce monument marque l'endroit où la première église a été reconstruite. D'ailleurs, elle a été reconstruite sur le terrain donné par M. Malcolm Groat après que la Compagnie de la Baie d'Hudson ordonne, en 1876, de sortir la chapelle Saint-Joachim du Fort Edmonton.
Voici la lettre que l'arrière-petite-fille de Malcolm Groat a écrite à la paroisse Saint-Joachim afin de recueillir quelques renseignements.

Father,
I need some information for my research. My Great grandfather Malcolm Alexander Groat dead in 1912. The Bishop of the Catholic mission at the time was Vital Grandin.
I am looking for any letters to or business with that pertains to the donation of the nine acres of land which is now 107 Ave + 121 Street.
The chapel within the Fort was disassembled on Oct 11, 1876 & the lumber was lauded out to the new location.
Somewhere in the church records dating back to this date there should be information to this effect. The first mass in the new Saint-Joachim's was held on Jan 14, 1877.
I am looking for a certified stamped or original document that has anything about this transaction. I appreciate your help anyway.
