Ottawa (Ottawa from Tower of Church of the Sacred Heart)

Ottawa, the capital of the Dominion of Canada, is situated at the junction of the Rideau and Ottawa rivers. It is the official residence of the Governor General, and the seat of the Supreme Court of the Dominion. The city was selected arbitrarily as the capital, but has grown steadily and now ranks as one of the handsomest and best kept of Canadian cities. The population is estimated to be nearly 70,000.
