Montreal (Royal Victoria Hospital)

This splendid institution, located on Pine Avenue, was founded in 1887, to commemorate the Jubilee of the late Queen Victoria, by Lord Mount Stephen and Lord Strathcona, who each contributed one million dollars for its erection and endowment. It is a thoroughly modern hospital, with accommodations for 250 patients, and was opened to the sick poor of all creeds on January 2, 1894.
