Mouth of the Mush-A-Mush River1; Mahone as Seen from Oakland2

1. Which flows into Mahone Harbor. The Indians paddled their canoes up this waterway when carrying their captives to Quebec after the Payzant Massacre.

2. Mahone Harbor with its numerous Coves and Islands is a picture that will entrance the eye of the artist, and a very beautiful drive of four or five miles may be taken on both sides of it. On the Oakland side the drive through the beautiful avenue of pines which almost meet overhead and through which may be seen the blue waters of the Harbor dancing in the sunlight, is exceedingly delightful.
