These races are very interesting and exciting, each canoe carries a crew of fifteen people and are propelled by paddles. The American Canoe Association is composed of lovers of aquatic sports from all parts of Canada and the United States. They hold annual meetings of two weeks duration at places designated by a majority vote at a previous meeting. These meets are looked forward to with a great deal of interest. During the meeting small boats of every type are represented and engaged in contest for honors in the form of decorations. No cash prizes allowed.
