There were 7 people involved in this project: 2 Wasagamack Education Authority staff members, 3 community youth and 2 George Knott School Sr. IV students. These 5 young people have gained a lot of computer related experience and are planning to get more involved in the communcations/technology field.
Jim Gibbs Jim Gibbs is the Vice-principal and technology co-ordinator at George Knott School. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Education degrees from St. Francis-Xavier University in Antiganish, Nova Scotia and began his first full time teaching position at George Knott School in 1990. Over the time, Jim has taught at many grade levels: from grade 2 to Senior IV. Byron Beardy Hello, my name is Byron Beardy and I'm the Co-ordinator For Curriculum Development at Wasagamack Education Authority. I've been with the department since 1994 and I'm enjoying this kind of work. I'm proud to be part of this project and seeing these 5 youth gain valuable experience in the information/technology field.
I've been involved in the planning development, delivery and the evaluations of all units. I believe that in order to be whole, as First Nation People, we must first master our First Native Languages and Cultures, thus not losing our identity. It is this belief and community support that we have developed our units for our school. These units are just 5 of many units we've developed and they are condensed version. We hope you enjoy our site and should you require any information or have questions, please visit our site. KINANAKOMIN!

Sylvia Harper Hi, my name is Sylvia Harper and I am 17 years old. I was born in Winnipeg in the year 1981. I now live in Wasagamack, MB. I am currently finishing grade 12 and am hoping to graduate in June which is pretty exciting for me, because I would be among the first graduating class of George Knott School. This is the first year they've offered grade 12 here. If there was no grade twelve, I would have been shipped off to a high school in the city so I could finish my schooling. Well, anyway, I love to read and write and hope to write an overnight bestseller in the future. I like to play sports like hockey and volleyball, but I could play anything that was interesting. This was pretty interesting for me to build this site because before this I never knew how to build a web page. I know that this will be a valuable asset to my resume. I hope that this web site helps bring cultural learning into the classroom, and I know that I am happy for working on it. So...I guess all I can say now is that I hope this site will interest you and I hope it helps presrve my culture.
